About the Chamber
The purpose of the Haines Chamber of Commerce shall be:
- To advance all the interests of the area under the democratic system of free enterprise.
- To encourage the growth of existing business activities while giving all proper assistance to any new firms or individuals seeking location in Haines and its environs.
- To support the activities believed to be beneficial to the community and its citizens and to oppose those which might be detrimental.
- To speak for the Chamber members in city, state, and national legislative and governmental matters, but avoiding partisan politics.
- To help develop the surrounding industrial territory.
- To cultivate the friendship of neighboring communities and in general to promote the welfare of Haines area citizens, following always those policies intended to accomplish the greatest good for the greatest number.
Business@Noon (our general membership luncheons) generally takes place on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month during winter and spring. In the summer and fall, meetings are held once per month. Sometimes the dates are adjusted to accommodate a certain speaker or event. Refer often to the Calendar for actual dates and location.
Board of Directors Meetings are generally held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 8:00am in the Chamber Office conference area.
Committee Meetings are set by the individual committees on an as needed basis. Refer often to the Calendar for actual dates and locations. Current Committees
Workshops and Seminars are offered to the business community on a periodic basis. Most are free to Chamber members. The Calendar will keep you informed of dates, topics, and locations.
